Just wiped off heavily smudgeyed glasses. we made a new conclusion about them (the glasses) that they do not photograph well. like in this photo above with the beebear.
Recent news, my brother won a humungous custody battle recently & i am so very proud of him. a very dark rain cloud had reappeared into our lives & threatened to take my adorable niece back to sin city for absolutely no good reasons. the wicked witch has now moved back to Vegas & has left her daughter here in Washington to live with her daddy.. hoorah! i made him an hour long appt at Massage Envy for tomorry while Medea & i work on making him father's day cards.
Also planning a trip to see my folks in a couple of months <3
The cat & dog are getting along a lot better now. not bffs but can kick it in the same room all together now, it's major ariel progress! GO KITTY GO. i love her dearly, my baby girl.
It's june & 56 degrees. cold & grey sort of weekend. Rewind back to a year ago when we lived in nevada, it was already over the hundies. frikken insano.

Saturday was Nova Day, she got some new doggy accessories after a date with the groomers.
This Celebrity Apprentice show is cracking me up.
March has been rough on the both of us. My mom was in the hosp & so was Derek's dad. Both health conditions are ok at the moment so we are breathing a little easier lately.
Insta fam = my bro & niece moved in/escaped from Sin City & arrived on V-day.
Thursday we played beauty salon in the kitchen to fix Medea's hair. She decided to cut some of her own, super short like Aunt Trina!
He has recently received an awesome chef job offer in Seattle & they've now moved out into an apt in Kent.
Derek planned a quick romantic birthday getaway trip for us this weekend. Stayed at the Inn at the Market.. a gorgeous hotel room that had a view of Pike Place market.
Mediterranean fud for dinner at Andaluca's before we saw Metric at Showbox Sodo last night.
He's baking me a b-day yellow bundt cake right now w/ chocolate fudge funfetti frosting. Thank you babe, for a wonderful weekend. I love you so much! xoxo.

no one knows

i taught myself how to knit during my lengthy time of unemployment. i made derek a black scarf for xmas, he says he loves it :) i'm right now on scarf #2. this one is a "for her" red. i forgot to blog for the final month of the 09 year. balls. it feels good to be among the working (living) again. first payday is at the end of the week and i am already dancing. hachoo...! i feel blessed. damn that hurt my ear. feels like a minor infection. double blessed. jason came over with his meat & he's in my kitchen with derek choppin onions :) men who can cook = supa kawaii~ (super cute in japanese).

The roadtrip was not too shabby. Managed to get a speeding ticket before we got out of Nevada state tho. Ariel tolerated Nova dog well enough tho she is still being a cat about it & keeping her distance from the demonic beast that stares at her with her big bobbly eyeballs. Camped out at an Extended Stay in Southcenter for about a week until we were able to snag a cute apt in Newcastle area. Got a new sectional, the dog approves. I'm still on job hunt mode, collecting wonderful unemployment to get by but it's all about the benjamins these days. It's killing me cause there's so many good shows this & next month that we're gonna hafta miss out on :( I'm listening to the radio again. Nirvana's on right now, made me remember the first time I'd ever heard them.. just a teen living in Munford, Tennessee. So many memories to remember.

On the Road Again

Monday morning Derek & I are hopping into his truck with 1 cat + 1 boston terrier also towing the matrix & moving to Washington. We've been considering this for a while so he decided to apply for a job online- location Seattle & magically received a speedy response, had several interviews & pow.. just like that he got a decent job offer & starts next Monday! Holy crap! I got laid off from work last week reason being that they had too many people in my dept & they couldn't afford to have me. I've never been laid off before. Feels strangely odd but I'm excited to find out where I'll be living & working at next. What is more exciting is that my brother is also considering moving there when the lease is up a the end of the year :) Anywho, just packing up this weekend & should be there by Wed. We're thinking about staying at an Extended Stay or something until we find a place to rent. I'm also on the job hunt so let me know if you hear of any openings. See you soon.
